Handmade in London by Artist Sam Taylor
Handbuilt stoneware bowl with brushed slip glaze
Ornamental and pleasingly sturdy and tactile to touch. Each plate explores primitive marks, ritual and dysfunction in mass manufacturing.
Sam Taylor is an emerging Artist from London, her work negotiates tradition, craft and it's balance between global mass production and industrialisation.
Throughout her performances, prints, sculptures, and paintings, Taylor explores themes of folk art and ritual and aims to investigate the way in which these elements coexist and even integrate with new technologies
Her functional clay works have unapologetic primitive marks and notions of dysfunction, some combined with playful decals of mass produced imagery, instagram posts and other social media references.
