ABOUT

Spring Holt is a collective of Artists & Designers based in the British Isles. One of the aims of the collective is to help support heritage crafts in the UK. According to the Heritage Craft association, many businesses outsource production to low-wage economies in other countries which can give a misleading sense of health in UK crafts. They go on to say that skills are becoming endangered and continue to do their upmost to support Heritage crafts being passed from one generation to the next.
At Spring Holt we champion craft skills through research and practice, each item is hand made in the British Isles, supporting local artists and heritage crafts wherever possible.
The collective was founded in 2020 by Sam Taylor, an Artist and Musician from London.

"I was introduced to working in clay by Colleen Rogers, an excellent potter based in Holborn, London. She encouraged both the skill and the social nature arts made by a community can bring". Inspired ever since, Taylor has been exploring where art meets clay and how a community can be informed by this.
The name Spring Holt was chosen to reflect new beginnings, the environment and building towards a healthier state of heritage skills and crafts of the British-Isles. As well as considerate business practices and a focus in slow living, Spring Holt, amongst many new small businesses in the UK, believes in the power of consumers to affect social change and welcomes you to the site. If you would like to find out more about our community please get in touch or sign up to our newsletter for regular updates.
